The Asia Pacific EBM Network Conference 2006

8-10 December 2006, Hong Kong

First Call for Participation

In 2004, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Hospital Authority, University of Oxford and Peking University jointly organized the 3rd Asia Pacific Conference on Evidence-Based Medicine in which over 300 delegates from 29 countries participated (www.hkcochrane.cuhk.edu.hk). In the conference, delegates from 12 countries and regions sat together and formed the Asia Pacific EBM Network with the view to promoting education and collaborations in evidence-based medicine in the area.

The first Asia Pacific EBM Network Conference will be held in Hong Kong between 8 and 10 December 2006 by the same organizers. Sir Lain Chalmers, the founder of the World Cochrane Collaboration, will give the keynote speech for the conference. A CUHK-Oxford-NEMC training programme will be built in he conference with international experts from the UK National EBM Centre and Tufts New England Medical Centre (USA) as trainers.

The conference will be a special event for people from both the East and the West to sit together and share their ideas and experiences and develop partnerships and collaborations. Thus, we invite you to participate in the event. Your presence will be an important contribution to the future development of evidence-based medicine in this part of the world.

December is also the most pleasant season to come to see and explore Hong Kong!

We sincerely invite you to look forward to your contribution and seeing you in Hong Kong!
